The Rules
[1] Be nice to each other OOC. This means you will be moderated for clear insults, depending on the severity. This rule also mean no serious racism, sexism, excessive trolling, or telling somebody that they are “acting like a baby”.
[2] Follow the Terms of Service Try to abide by the terms of service set out in the agreement you made when you joined up with this site. These are the sudden launch terms of service, and are non-negotiable. This means no posting pornographic images, and no breaking any laws. The fact that SL allows 13 year olds to join their forums doesn't affect our writing very much, as when you take into consideration some of the PG13 rated movies of recent years, we're permitted to roleplay strong violence, mild sexual scenes, and talk about drugs in our roleplay posts (these things are far less offensive and subversive when experienced in the written form). It's important to note the difference between roleplaying a character who smokes weed and advocating the REAL LIFE usage of weed. This is a fictional forum, we are not advocating what our characters do, we are merely expressing ourselves creatively. With all that said, try to stick with the terms of service, but don't tip-toe around too much.
[3] Try to follow the codex, where possible We've created a locical fictional universe democratically, and if you ignore these things you are messing up the story and the world for everyone else. Don't like D&B's codex? Then I'd suggest you join RBRP.
[4] No god-modding or power playing. This means a) you cannot control another person's character, ONLY your own, and b) you cannot roleplay your character as more powerful than they actually, realistically are. Don't have telepathy in the Dark Alleyway game? Then don't roleplay using it. It's as simple as that.
[5] No crossing or mixing between IC and OOC. What happens IC should stay IC, and should not bleed into how you treat other people OOC. The same goes in reverse; you should never take OOC information and insert it into the brain of your character, because only you know this information, not your character.
[6] Signature images are restricted to a maximum of 600 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall. Text in addition to this will be counted as 10 pixels per line. Anyone exceeding a total of 200 pixels will have their signatures replaced with something ugly and humiliating.
[7] Display your character name. If you have a character in RavenBlack's Dark Alleyway game, you must place the EXACT character name in your signature or under your avatar if you wish to roleplay or vote. If you do not have a character in game, you should place the word "Human" in your signature.
